Last January 13, Marangal-Maanyag* partnership workers and members, past and present sponsored students and other
out-of-school youth gathered for a Christmas party. A total of 40 people came for the party held at a beach.

The Marangal-Maanyag partnership was
born five years ago to bless two people
groups in Mindanao. This partnership is a consensus-based one, composed of individuals, local churches, organizations,
and agencies, working together to bless these two people groups.

The partnership holds a vision that encompasses helping needy Marangal and Maanyag families and communities through relief and development projects, and through various kinds of services; to promote peace and goodwill between believers and these people groups so that their city of residence will remain a safe and peaceful place to live in and to establish an indigenous fellowship of Great Commission believers among these people groups.

The Christmas party was a time for fellowship. The partnership workers spent time talking with the sponsored students, asking how their schooling and their family has been. Time was also spent swimming and enjoying the food served. Games were also played.

The highlight of this Christmas celebration was a retelling of the Messiah’s birth by the workers to the students and the out-of-school youth. Gifts were also distributed during the party to the sponsored students. The gifts were from generous LSI partners. A local school in the city also donated gifts. This was thru the efforts of a Kairos course graduate who was teaching in the school.
